Meet Our Founder
Alaya Ketani CHT CFT CPC is the Founder and Executive Director of Keeping Ashland Women Safe Task Force, K.A.W.S. Alaya works with fervor to establish the wellbeing of Women and Girls internationally. She has created powerful alliances with community organizations including Ashland Police Department (APD), Jackson County Sexual Assault Response Team (SART), Ashland Culture of Peace Commission (ACPC), Ashland Chapter of Association of University Women (AAUW), and more. Her mission is to pierce the perceived “bubble” of an ideal city and increase awareness for much needed change to the community about the significant presence of violence and threat of violence in all forms against Women in Ashland. Her passion to unite Women and enhance empowerment as a positive influence on today’s world began as a young child and continues to fire her time and energy.
Alaya is seen by many as a symbol of hope and inspiration. Alaya is truly a Survivor. Having experienced catastrophic experiences including a childhood of trauma, survivor of domestic violence, natural disasters, a critical car crash and a corporate shooting massacre Alaya is living proof that all things are possible. She has transformed her experiences into empowerment to bring the fruits of her life into meaningful and impactful positive influence on the lives of others. She holds a depth of insight and optimism acquired through her inspirational life journey and applies it to everything she does.
Formerly a career Social Worker Alaya worked to help the most vulnerable segments of our population including poor seniors and families, reemployment services for those considered to be the least rehirable, victims of domestic violence, and survivors of child abuse. She has over forty years expertise, and presently sees clients in her private practice as a Depth Hypnotherapist, Trauma/ Nervous System Regulation Specialist, Somatic and Biofeedback Practitioner, Neuroscience and Mind Master Trainer, and Sports Peak Performance Expert. She is also an advanced level Mediator with extensive training and experience. She holds her private practice with clients in three Southern Oregon offices: Ashland, Grants Pass and Bandon. Alaya also hosts two radio shows on KSKQ Community Radio: the Wednesday “Morning Show” at 8am that she co-hosts, and “Empower Your Life” on Saturday mornings 10am, which is dedicated to people and action, culture changers and life savers who have become clear and are taking action to bring much needed positive change to this world, the qualities and the mindsets contained therein.
Alaya is available for informational talks, meetings and introductions. She welcomes collaboration with citizens and organizations to learn more about K.A.W.S., and to contribute their skills to joint projects in alignment with the potent mission of K.A.W.S
